En Plein Air Art

En plein air  is a French expression meaning “in the open air” and is especially used to describe the act of painting outdoors. From Saturday, July 19th to the 25th, Door County will be in the midst of the largest outdoor painting festival in the midwest, the “Door County Plein Air Festival.” With a wide range of scheduled events from dinners and auctions to Artist meet and greets, this event is surely one for the books. This year, over 40 different notable artists will be attending this year’s festival. To name a few, we have Mitch Baird, Suzie Baker, Bob Beck, and Mat Barber Kennedy.
