What makes Gravity Trails Zip Line Tour different from other zip line tours in the North Amercia? Gravity Trails Zip Line Tour is unique to other tours for the main reason that our tours keep you a lot more closer to the ground. At Gravity Trails, you will never be more than 15ft off the ground. We know that this zip will be the first zip lining experience for most visitors, and that it doesn't take that much height to give people a sense of loftiness. This first zip line course will be aimed at the beginner but you can expect a second intermediate zip line course in 2012
How long does a tour take? From the moment you leave "Base Camp" and hit the trail head to the time you zip and return, the zip line tour takes about 1 to 2 hours. Depending on group size.
What should I bring and wear on the tour? Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended on tour during July and August. Also, pants and long sleeve shirts should be worn and long hair should be tied back. Minor scraps are a part of the zip lining experience, so it's always good to have and extra layer of protection on such as pants.
What have you done to ensure your tour is safe? Our course is routinely inspected to meet or exceed the ANSI-accredited ACCT guidelines. All of our gear meets National Fire Protection Agency standards, and our guides go through extensive safety training and have First Aid & CPR certifications. They will give you a detailed briefing called "flight school" before the tour begins.
Why do you have weight and height restrictions for your tours? This tour was built and tested to bring people who weigh between 70-230 lbs at the appropriate speeds across the cables. In order to minimize risk of injury, we do not recommend that people outside of that weight range come on our tour. People ages 8 and above are allowed on our tour. This age was determined collaboratively with our builders and insurance company based on the maturity level required for an active tour of this nature.
How will I slow down safely when I am zipping across the cables? Our zip line course is a hands free experience. Since the angle of decent is relatively small, the guides will provide breaking at the end of the tour.
How many zips are on the tour? Our tour consists of 3 zip lines.
Do I need to sign a waiver? Yes, all participants must sign a waiver before participating in the tour. The waivers are provided at "Base Camp" upon arrival or can be found on the web (Waiver RJ513-Recreational ActivitiesWaiver.pdf) and brought in.
